Airstream Dimensions Guide
Finding the right Airstream starts with understanding how much space you need. Let's walk through each model's dimensions, beginning with our smallest options and working up to the largest. All dimensions include Length (L) x Width (W) x Height (H) with air conditioning.
Airstream Basecamp
Basecamp 16: 16'2" L x 7' W x 8'9" H
Basecamp 20: 20'2" L x 7'9.5" W x 9'1.5" H
The Basecamp is where adventure meets compact design. These models offer nimble sizing that makes them easy to tow with many SUVs and trucks you might already own. The 16-foot model sleeps two people comfortably, while the 20-foot version opens up space for up to four travelers. Both feature a wet bath, full kitchen, and convertible sleeping areas that adapt to your needs. Interior height is around 6'7" in the 20-foot model.
Airstream Bambi
16RB: 16'1" L x 8' W x 9'3" H
19CB: 19'1" L x 8' W x 9'3" H
20FB: 20'7" L x 8' W x 9'3" H
22FB: 21'11" L x 8' W x 9'3" H
Bambi brings classic Airstream style in a lightweight package. All models feature an 8-foot width and interior height of 6'4", making them roomy enough to stand and move around comfortably. The 16RB is our shortest traditional travel trailer, featuring a wet bath and clever storage solutions. As you move up in size, the 19CB introduces a unique corner bed layout. The 20FB and 22FB options give you more kitchen counter space, and the 22FB includes a full three-piece bathroom behind a door.
Airstream Caravel

22FB: 21'11" L x 8' W x 9'3" H
Caravel shares its size range with Bambi but steps up the interior finishes. These models feature high-end touches typically found in larger Airstreams. The layouts match Bambi's configurations (16RB, 19CB, 20FB, and 22FB) but include upgraded materials and fixtures throughout. Interior height remains 6'4", with 8-foot width providing comfortable living space.

The 25-foot and 27-foot models are popular for couples, while the 28-foot and 30-foot options serve families well. Special layouts include the 30FB Bunk (sleeping up to 8 people) and the 30FB Office (featuring a dedicated workspace).

The 30-foot option adds even more storage and a larger bathroom. The 33-foot Classic reaches the top of our travel trailer range, featuring a residential-style bathroom that spans the entire rear and extensive overhead storage throughout. All models feature the wider 8'5.5" body for maximum interior space.
Understanding the Dimensions
Single-Axle (16'-22'): 8-foot width standard, easier to tow, fits into more campsites, lighter weight
Dual-Axle (23'-33'): 8-foot width at 23', 8'5.5" width at 25' and up, more stable towing, increased interior space, additional storage
Touring Coaches (19'-24'): Van-based widths (around 6'10"-7'4"), self-contained motorhomes, no tow vehicle needed, Mercedes-Benz power
Height Considerations: Most travel trailers measure around 9'3" to 9'8" tall with air conditioning installed. Interior headroom typically ranges from 6'3" to 6'5", providing comfortable standing height for most people.
Width Makes a Difference: The jump from 8-foot to 8'5.5" width in the larger models provides noticeably more interior space and is worth considering if you plan extended trips or have multiple travelers.
Remember that interior dimensions differ from exterior measurements. Each model maximizes living space within its footprint, so we recommend visiting a dealer to walk through different sizes and see which feels right for your travel style.
